The heart behind Ìtùnú Africa
Before there was a brand,there was Mommy.
Some stories begin with an idea. Ours began with a woman whose love for natural care, and the traditions she shared with us, would become a legacy.

Ìtùnú means comfort in Yoruba. It is more than a name to us. It is the feeling we hope every product, every experience, and every person who encounters our brand will carry with them.
But the story of Ìtùnú Africa began long before the brand had a name. It began at home, with our mother.
Growing up, we saw how much she loved the natural things around her and how she believed in their ability to care for the skin and hair. Among them, ori (shea butter) held a special place. She used it for dry, cracked skin and other skin concerns, embracing the kind of care that had been passed down through generations.
Those memories stayed with us. And when we lost Mommy, they became even more meaningful. Her love for these natural ingredients became part of the legacy we wanted to carry forward. In many ways, Ìtùnú Africa is our way of keeping a piece of her alive, honouring what she taught us, and sharing something that meant so much to her.

Founded by two sisters, Ìtùnú Africa was born from a desire to bring African-inspired body care into people's everyday lives. We wanted to create more than products that sit on a shelf. We wanted to create a feeling: the comfort of caring for your skin, the joy of slowing down, and the beauty of reconnecting with traditions that have always been part of us.
Our inspiration comes from the richness of African heritage, the ingredients our people have known for generations, and the simple wisdom of caring for the body with intention. We bring these inspirations into our body butters, body oils, and body bars, creating products that make everyday body care feel thoughtful, nourishing, and a little more luxurious.
